Give yourself enough time to study
Don’t leave it until the last minute. While majority of the students still manage to get through by last-minute preparation, it’s not the best way to approach an exam. First and foremost, set up a timetable for your study. This can help to sort out your time management issue to a great extent. Write down how many exams you have and the days on which you have them. Then organize your study accordingly. You may want to give some exams more study time than others, so find a balance that you feel comfortable with.
Organize your study space
Make sure your room is well lit and you have enough space to spread your textbooks and notes out. Make sure you feel as comfortable as possible so that you will be able to focus well. For this try and get rid of all possible distractions.

Keep your body and brain well-fuelled by choosing nutritious foods that have been proven to aid concentration and memory, such as fish, nuts, seeds, yogurt and blueberries. The same applies on exam day – eat a good meal before the test, based on foods that will provide a slow release of energy throughout. Sugar may seem appealing, but your energy levels will crash an hour later. Research suggests that high-carb, high-fiber, slow-digesting foods like oatmeal are best.
Avoid the all-nighter
Most of the students stay up the whole night right before the day pf exam. Even though the primary aim is to complete all the portions in one go that practically has proved to be a bad idea. Based on a 2008 study by Pamela Thacher, Associate Professor of Psychology at St. Lawrence University, all-nighters impair reasoning and memory for as long as four days. As a result, you will receive lower grades. But that’s not all; you would then be forced to wake up earlier than expected–and that’s bad too. According to Dan Taylor, director of a sleep-and-health-research lab at the University of North Texas, this will interfere with rapid-eye-movement (REM), which aids memory. Drink plenty of water
As a final tip, remember that being well hydrated is essential for your brain to work at its best. Make sure you keep drinking plenty of water throughout your revision, and also on the exam day.
